Bhangra Dhol

This brightly coloured Bhangra dhol is a staple at weddings and festivals throughout South Asia and is an integral part of contemporary Bhangra music.

Constructed from a mango wood shell and fitted with metal rings for tensioning the skins, the drum is played using two sticks – the thin, straight ‘tihli’ for the higher-pitched end and the thicker, curved ‘dagga’ for the bass end.
