Cactus Rainstick

These fascinating cactus rainsticks bring you the sound of rain – from the desert!

Made from a real cactus plant that has fallen naturally, the cacti are cleaned and hollowed, with the cactus needles being used for spiking into the interior which is then filled with small gravel before sealing

Finished with a colourful cotton wrap that features a little loop, ideal for hanging the rainstick when not in use

To use, simply hold the rainstick vertically, then turn it 180 degrees

These rainsticks are produced on a fair trade basis which means you can be confident that the workers involved in the production were paid a fair wage and worked in safe conditions. No child labour was used

Cactus rainsticks are not toys and are not suitable for children under the age of 3 years

What is a rainstick?

Rainsticks are believed to have been an Aztec invention, created in the belief that they could bring about rainstorms. These days, they are used as percussion instruments in music, sound therapy, or just for fun.

What is it made of?

This rainstick is a bit special! While the majority of rainsticks you will find will be made of bamboo, this one is made from a real cactus plant! But don't worry, all the spikes have been pushed right through, so they are on the inside, not the outside. It's actually really nice to hold.

How is this rainstick different to others?

As well as being made from a real cactus rather than the usual bamboo, our rainsticks come from a fair trade source, which means that there was absolutely no exploitative labour, and the people who made them were paid fairly and worked in a safe environment.
