Colourful Bird Ornaments
Pretty as a picture, these colourful bird ornaments are made of soapstone which has been carefully coloured and skilfully carved to perfection.
Soapstone is amazingly tactile and the shape of these birds are very ergonomic making it hard to put them down!
Each soapstone bird is unique, with slight variations that add to its character and charm.
Ethically Sourced and Sustainable
Handcrafted in Kenya by World Fair Trade Organisation approved suppliers, you can feel good knowing your purchase supports artisans and sustainable practises.
Good to know…
The mining and carving of soapstone is all done entirely by hand – no mechanisation is used. When the quarries are depleted they are back-filled and after 5-10 years the soapstone begins to reform, making this a wonderfully sustainable product.
Soapstone is believed to have calming properties that can help a person adapt and cope with change. It is associated with the Root Chakra, the number 7, the zodiac sign Sagittarius, and the element Air.
