At the beginning of January 2024 Rich and I became the proud new owners of the coffee shop formerly known as Ginger Beans, now Karma Corner. Situated in Trinity Market Arcade in Hull’s Old Town and close to our gift shop, Near & Fair, we serve freshly ground coffee, a variety of teas and infusions, indulgent hot chocolate, cola and lemony-ade.

With over 20 years of commitment to the fair trade movement, it’s no surprise that all our coffee and teas are sourced exclusively from ethical companies with proven track records in Fair Trade and organic produce.

Dealing directly with small farming co-operatives, both CafรฉDirect (coffee) and Clipper (teas/infusions) have decades of experience of putting people before profits and are both certified B-Corporations ensuring transparency and accountability, which means you don’t have to take their (or our) word for it! And let’s not forget the newcomers, Karma Drinks, crafting the most delicious cola, lemonade, and orangeade, all bearing the Fairtrade and Soil Association Organic certifications.

We are a child-friendly establishment and have colouring pages for all age-groups available along with a box of pencil crayons. We are happy to shift the furniture around to suit your family, and pride ourselves on keeping things nice and clean.

For the cyclists among you, there is free indoor cycle-parking available and for a reasonable fee you can have your bike checked over and repaired all courtesy of our nearest neighbour, R’evolution. We’re a great place to meet or stop off pre-ride, mid-trip, or as an end destination, and we’ll happily top up your water bottle for free (tap water). There are toilets within the building, so you won’t be trying to pedal with your legs crossed when you leave.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome and we’re happy to provide a bowl of water to keep your poochie hydrated.

Come on in and experience Karma Corner and Fairtrade tea and coffee for yourself. After just a few weeks, we’re already thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

You will find Karma Corner down the Trinity Market Arcade at the Lowgate end
