Barong Mask

Also known as Raksassa masks, these masks are traditional masks used in Balinese dance.

The Barong is a mythical creature in Indonesian folklore, often portrayed as a lion-like figure. The dance involving the Barong is a popular traditional performance in Bali, where it symbolizes the eternal battle between good and evil.

The dance is a traditional ritual dance that narrates the eternal struggle between good (Barong) and evil (Rangda). The performance is usually accompanied by traditional music and elaborate costumes.

The dance is not just a form of entertainment but also holds cultural and religious significance. It is often performed during religious ceremonies and festivals in Bali, particularly to ward off evil spirits and bring blessings to the community.
