How do I use the oil burner?
For use with fragrance oils: Fill the top bowl with water to about 5mm from the brim and add a few drops of your chosen oil. Place a tealight in the holder below, light it, and enjoy as the gentle warmth releases the fragrance.
For use with wax melts: Place your wax melt in the top bowl (no water needed). Pop a tealight in the holder, light it, and allow the wax to slowly melt and fill the room with scent.
How do I clean the burner after use?
After using oils, allow the burner to cool completely. Carefully wash the bowl with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth. Do not leave the soapstone submerged in water, and avoid harsh cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the natural stone.
After using wax melts, wait until the wax has cooled and hardened. Light a tealight underneath for just a few seconds—this loosens the block of wax so you can lift it out easily. Wipe the bowl with a soft tissue, and it’s ready for next time.
What makes soapstone a sustainable choice?
Soapstone is a natural material that is long-lasting and durable, so you won’t need to replace your burner often. Each one is handcrafted by skilled artisans using traditional hand tools—a low-energy, small-scale process compared to factory-made ceramics or plastics. Even more fascinating, once a soapstone mine is depleted, it is backfilled, and the stone gradually replenishes itself over time, making it a uniquely renewable resource. By choosing soapstone, you’re supporting both sustainability and traditional craftsmanship.
Are oils or wax melts included?
No, fragrance oils and wax melts are not included—this lets you pick your favourite scents to suit your mood. You can find fragrance oils here and wax melts here.
How big is the burner?
Approx. 8cm high × 6.5cm diameter—compact enough for a shelf or table, yet large enough to give a lovely fragrance throw.
